Although urbanism has many benefits and advantages  but it's characteristics may seems to others as disadvantage here are some of its characteristics :

1 - Rapid social and cultural change :

one of characteristic of urbanism is the rapid social and cultural change 

2 - Mobility :

people can move easily from one place to another , from one job to another and this could lead to weak the ties of local community 

3 - Materialism :

people who live in urban cities " urban people " give primary importance to material possessions they live and are known for their assets , salaries , bank assets and buildings .

Urbanism could benefit us in many aspects , it could benefit our business and benefit us as residents

- urbanism provide higher quality of life , less traffic , healthier lifestyle
better places to live , work and play .

Benefit to business :
- it will increase sales due to more foot and less car use , more profit due
to less advertising cost no need for large signs , more community involvement
from being part of community and knowing more residents

to and entire community and from principles of urbanism :

* Minimize the environmental impact

3- Walk-ability :

* Ground forces streets free of cars
* Most things with 10 mins walk of home and work

Urbanism and New Urbanism

Urbanism is the way of life of people who live in large cities on other way we can say that urbanism describe the way of social interaction of people who live in urban areas .
but the New urbanism is the movement of urban design that encourage the environmentally friendly habits through creating walk-able neighborhoods , we can say that new urbanism is the approach of planning and development based on the principles of how cities are built for the last centuries : streets , houses and walk able blocks
